Tailor your trip
Where do you want to go? What do you want to do? What kind of menue may tempt you? The options are many. Together we find the best solution for your group, and tailor the trip just the way you want it.
Whatever concept you deside to go for, a cruise with the unique old boat will be something for everybody to remember. On deck, we can offer a buffet and simpler dining, or we can serve up to 10 people in the lounge below deck, from a single hot dish to an exclusive, multi-course tasting menu supplied by Mathallen, one of Tromsø’s best restaurants.
The lounge is also suitable for meetings and pleasant conversations, or as a warm and cosy place to relax. There is also a small bar and facilities for presentations and intimate musical performances.
The boat and its crew are available for hire for shorter or longer trips.
Hermes II has a capacity of 35 passengers on shorter trips. We can also carry out overnight trips for up to 10 people.
Welcome on board
Hermes II is equipped with top-quality modern navigation and safety equipment. On board, you will meet highly qualified and experienced skippers and hosts with upgraded safety training. A trip with Hermes II should be a pleasant and safe experience for everyone.
Facilities
You can wander around on deck and enjoy the atmosphere or just sit down and relax. Warm blankets and seat mats are available when you want to warm up a bit. If it’s still a little too cold for you, we have thermal suits to lend. Below deck you will find a nice and warm lounge with seating, dining table, bunks, bar and 2 toilets.
There are also screens that show films about the boats the company owns. From dramatic scenes from deep-sea fishing in the Barents Sea to scenic trips in glorious sunshine with Hermes II.
All the screens that the skipper has on the bridge can also be viewed down here. You can follow the boat’s course, observe where other boats are located, check the depth around the vessel and try to see if there are fish nearby.
Serving
Hermes II is registered as a restaurant with a serving licence. Therefore we are not able to allow our guests to bring their own food or drinks. Exceptions can be made for small children and allergy sufferers.
On two of our open trips – the 2.5 hour cruise and the fishing trip (4.5 h) alll our guests get a warm fishcake. On the fishing trip we prepare today’s catch and serve fresh fish the traditional northern Norwegian way. Coffee and tea are included. Other hot drinks, soft drinks and alcoholic drinks may be purchased on board – also on our 1 hour trips.
On some of our SPECIAL SEASONAL CRUISES we offer special food & wine/beer menus. We focus on local produce to give you an exciting culinary experience. E.g: Skriemølje (famous fresh cod dish) in the winter, aquavit & herring dishes for Christmas, beer and seafood-based local street food in the summer or other special events related to food concepts.
We plan the TAILOR-MADE TRIPS in cooperation with you. There are many options, from a pure boat trip without food, to various servings on deck, to multi-course tasting menus in the lounge below deck. On a trip with us you can enjoy a culinary experience with a delicious selection of known – and perhaps unknown – flavours from the best local food producers.

Clothing
Tromsø lies approximately on the edge of the Arctic ice. It is cold here, but it is even colder out at sea and it’s more exposed to wind. We therefore recommend that you keep abreast of the weather forecast before your trip and dress accordingly.
