Last Friday was a day to remember aboard Hermes II. On the same day, but entirely separate from one another, two couples celebrated their big day with us – two weddings, two distinct celebrations, and two couples who were lucky with the weather.
One of the weddings was especially close to us: one of our own extra skippers, Arnt-Ronald, married Åshild. A little earlier in the day, Kristin and Bjørn also said yes to one another.
Arriving by sea
At both weddings the couple arrived at Hermes II aboard Talaria, our fast RIB – a maritime way to reach the ceremony, with the wind in your hair and the historic wooden boat waiting out on the fjord.
Both couples were married by deputy mayor Sigrid Bjørnhaug Hammer, whom you’ll also spot in several of the photos from the day.
A day at sea
We at Hermes II helped with the practical planning and arranged a simple meal on board. Both couples got to celebrate their day out on the water, in fine weather and beautiful Tromsø surroundings.
